UK source for used Roland presses

Used Machinery Direct handles used equipment issues for manroland GB. Used equipment specialist Mark Stribley comments on the current market for packaging presses: “There is a slight increase in the number of companies looking at used equipment at the moment. There are certainly good deals to be had at the moment. Also, with the current weakness of the pound, the UK is definitely an attractive place to buy from.

“However,” he adds, “Buying used equipment for the converting sector may involve some compromise. Everyone might want a Roland 700 7-colour plus double coater with UV interdeck drying and just a few million on the clock – in reality that’s pretty unlikely.

“But many options, such as UV capabilities, can be retrofitted to a used press. It’s worth looking closely at what is available. Used Roland 300s are also popular for the label market and this type of machine would be an ideal investment for a company just starting out in that sector.”

“Finance is always a complex issue, but especially where used equipment is involved. It’s not always about the lowest rate. Sometimes you need a flexible finance solution – a company that understands more about the print industry, or a business that appreciates the needs of the used sector,” he affirms.
