Growing stronger via its regional focus

19 March 2012

CPP Expo, the regional converting show of the Americas, is now heading into its eighth year and growing in both exhibitor and visitor numbers with every show

Targeted at the converting/package printing market, including flexible packaging, folding carton/boxmaking, corrugated converting, tissue converting and narrow web/tag and label, this year’s CPP Expo exhibition and conference is being held in Cleveland, Ohio, USA on April 18-19.

Statistics from last year’s expo in Chicago indicate that nearly 6,000 converters/package printers came to the show looking for converting materials, equipment, machinery and supplies. This was an increase of 62% since its inception.

Show organiser HA Bruno says that, in January this year alone, more than a dozen leading suppliers – Alu Foil, Anilux Roll Cleaning Systems, Atlas Converting, NA Blower Application, Dalmec, EFI, InterGroup, Midway Rotary Die Solutions, Monarch Imaging, Muller Martini, Sossini, Siemens and Wilson Manufacturing – joined the exhibitor list for the Cleveland show.

Citing a regional approach as “very attractive”, the exhibitors said they were pleased to partake in an event that allows them to bring their solutions to the backyards of some of the leading converting operations serving the high concentration of CPGs in the area.

“CPP Expo 2012 increasingly continues to capture the interest of the entire converting and package printing communities” says Leo Nadolske, CPP Expo president.

“The interest and enthusiasm is generated as CPP Expo’s agility allows us to craft programmes and forums that make sense – not only for the supplier but for the buyer. I am delighted to welcome our new exhibitors to the show; the exhibition continues to create an exciting environment for this near $100 billion market.”

Conferences

The conferences at this year’s CPP Expo in Cleveland will feature over 20 sessions that, the organiser says, reflect the solutions being shown on the exhibition floor.

The programme will focus on innovations, cost savings, as well as compliance and legislation “to provide the information and tools necessary to promote growth within existing converting operations”. The four-day programme includes two days prior to the exhibition that will cover fundamentals while the two show days will begin with a morning of sessions broken into four tracks.

Management Resources: a session on marketing and global sales strategies, cost-savings and government legislation. This session is designed at director level and above to give a perspective beyond the day-to-day operation.

Finishing: finishing processes including costing, laminating and drying, with a focus on best practices, cost savings and technical solutions. These tracks will allow attendees to review processes and techniques in both theory and practice.

Package Printing Solutions: this session will focus on the techniques and processes in the printing process. It will cover flexo, digital and more, and is intended for all those involved in the press operation.

Packaging Solutions: this session will cover the technical elements of all types of packaging and will focus on quality control, testing, measurement and inspection within converting operations.

Fundamentals

CEMA’s fundamentals provide a foundation in coating and laminating, as well as slitting and rewinding operations of paper, film, nonwovens, and other continuous flexible materials. These two programmes act as a primer for the technical tracks, listed above, being presented during the show days.
