All on board

9 January 2013

The first CCE International, Corrugated & Carton Exhibition will be held at the Munich Trade Fair Centre in Germany from 19-21 March 2013. Exhibits at the new event will range from raw materials to corrugated and folding carton converting and printing equipment, to warehousing, waste extraction and baling

Growing worldwide demand for corrugated and folding cartons has prompted Mack Brooks Exhibitions to launch CCE International - "the only specialised exhibition in Europe for the corrugated and carton industries".

The new show will be co-located in Munich with the 8th ICE Europe, the world's leading trade exhibition for paper, film and foil converting, which will be previewed separately in the February issue of Converting Today.

Ever increasing demand for attractive and environmentally friendly packaging is boosting worldwide consumption of corrugated and cartonboard. This offers opportunities for corrugated and carton converters to increase market share within the packaging sector.

"It is in this context that we decided to launch a dedicated exhibition for this industry sector in Europe," says Stephen Brooks, chairman of Mack Brooks Exhibitions. "With CCE International we finally offer a tailor-made platform for the corrugated and carton industries.

"The exhibition is designed to give raw material manufacturers, machinery and service suppliers a unique opportunity to present their latest products and developments to corrugated and folding carton converters, as well as packaging designers," he says.

"Feedback from the companies in the corrugated and carton sector who we had informed in advance of our plans to launch CCE International was thoroughly positive," says CCE International exhibition director Nicola Hamann. "Machinery manufacturers as well as suppliers of raw material, services or ancillaries are excited about finally having a marketplace of their own.

"We are confident that the launch event will prove a solid basis for the development of the exhibition into Europe's first choice event for this industry sector.

"The positive feedback from exhibiting companies proves that there is a definite demand for a specialised trade exhibition for the corrugated and folding carton industries in Europe," adds Hamann.

Two shows at one venue

Visitors to CCE International will benefit from strong synergies with ICE Europe, which takes place at the same time and venue. ICE Europe 2013 will be held in halls A5 and A6 at the Munich Trade Fair Centre; CCE International will be held in Hall B5, situated exactly opposite. The entry tickets are valid for both shows.

"We have decided to organise CCE International at the same time and place as ICE Europe, as we expect that there will be a strong synergy effect with regards to the visitors," Nicola Hamann confirms.

"While both shows have their individual core audience, there will be a large number of visitors who will be interested in both shows. Converters and packaging professionals will therefore be able to experience sustainable packaging trends first-hand at this industry highlight in Munich."

The products and services presented at CCE International 2013 are targeted at corrugated and folding carton manufacturers and converters, rigid carton and honeycomb board manufacturers, core board and core tube manufacturers, as well as packaging designers and specifiers.

The Anvilok2R range features a special fibreglass backing for maximum flexibility plus a 25% saving on weight compared with steel covers. The new covers also incorporate a non-exposed finger, and a patented dual durometer lock which avoids flat spots across the locking area. The Anvilok2R is available in standard widths of 200-254mm, and extra wide 380-430mm.

Ero (stand 245) specialises in gluing systems and quality inspection devices for corrugated boxes. It offers a wide range of products for both folder gluers and casemakers, including gluing systems, black and white and colour barcode inspection, glue and braille inspection.

US-based Geo M Martin (stand 200) will be showing videos of the high performance QBII nicked bundle line system that produces beer trays at a rate of 100/sec.
